About the Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) Examination
This examination has been administered for over thirty years by the Information Security and Audit Control Association (ISACA). Information Technology (IT) is now at least as important an area (or more) for monitoring as accounting and other operations. The examination is offered twice per year on the second Saturday in June and December and consists of one, four hour, two hundred question multiple choice examination on the following topics:
The Information Systems Audit Process on audit techniques, planning and communications.
IT Governance on the management and audit of an IT Department and its practices.
Systems and Infrastructure Life Cycle Management on the proper oversight for creating, acquiring, testing, implementing, maintaining, disposing of IT.
IT Service Delivery and Support to assure that the IT Department proliferates proper service within management guidelines.
Protection of Information Assets to make certain that a security structure is in place to safeguard company assets.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery to provide assurance that interruptions to business services from an IT perspective continue as a result of planning and testing contingency plans.
